The workshop Donas de Malafo – ancestral ecology marked the beginning of the Abotcha programme, with an internal meeting of the project responsibles and three days of work with the community. The main concept was to reflect together on the importance of orality in the transmission and reclamation of knowledge and how to articulate ecological, performative and cinematic practices in this process. A performance was made that mapped together with the three present generations the ancestors of Malafo. Two films were studied, Skola di Tarafe (2021) and the historical film Nossa Terra (1966) which had its world premiere there of the new digitalisation.
